The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the port, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage and supervise port operations to ensure seamless and efficient handling of vessels, cargo, and related activities.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, international standards, and regulatory requirements within the port facility.
- Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping companies, port users, and stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and attract new business.
- Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and infrastructure, to enhance operational efficiency.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to address unforeseen challenges and ensure minimal disruptions to port activities.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage budgets for port operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in port operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety standards, and port management best practices.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of successfully managing port operations and achieving operational excellence.
- Familiarity with relevant technology and systems used in modern port operations.
