Description
UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our team dedicated to sustainable development initiatives. As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and implementing projects that contribute to the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of sustainable development projects in collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective communication and collaboration with government partners, NGOs, and local communities to ensure the success of projects.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to UNOPS policies and guidelines.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure timely delivery within financial constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality project delivery through adherence to international standards and best practices.
- Reporting: Prepare regular project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements and challenges.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Development, Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in sustainable development projects.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with UN guidelines and procedures is an asset.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of an additional UN language is advantageous.
