As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Gengo Oil, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce and the protection of the environment. This position requires a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high safety standards in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and communicate safety protocols and best practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Monitor and analyze safety data, identify trends, and implement proactive measures to prevent incidents.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices, and ensure continuous improvement of safety processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in safety-related disciplines (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
