Christian Aid is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission of eradicating poverty and promoting social justice. As a Program Manager for Humanitarian Assistance, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and overseeing humanitarian projects aimed at providing immediate relief and sustainable solutions to communities in crisis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive humanitarian assistance programs in collaboration with local partners, ensuring alignment with Christian Aid's values and principles.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Conduct needs assessments and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to identify and prioritize emergency response activities.
- Foster strong partnerships with local communities, government agencies, and other humanitarian organizations to enhance program impact.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring a high standard of project delivery and compliance with donor requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of humanitarian projects, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes and sustainability.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to donors, highlighting achievements, challenges, and financial updates.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in humanitarian assistance, incorporating new ideas into program design and implementation.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of affected communities, promoting inclusivity and gender sensitivity in all aspects of program implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in managing humanitarian assistance programs, preferably in diverse and challenging contexts.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, international standards, and donor regulations.
- Excellent project management, budgeting, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent Christian Aid in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills, especially French or Spanish, would be an advantage.
