Atmosfair, a leading global organization committed to sustainable and climate-neutral solutions, is seeking a passionate and experienced Climate Action Specialist to join our team in Nigeria. As a Climate Action Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing climate mitigation and adaptation strategies, fostering partnerships, and driving impactful projects to combat climate change.

Responsibilities:

  • Climate Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement effective climate action plans and strategies tailored to the Nigerian context.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage climate-related projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and measurable impact.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with governmental bodies, NGOs, businesses, and local communities to drive collaboration and support for climate initiatives.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training and support to local partners, communities, and organizations to enhance their understanding of climate issues and promote sustainable practices.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay updated on the latest climate science, policy developments, and technological advancements to inform decision-making and strategy implementation.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of climate initiatives and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation, with a proven track record of successful project management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of climate science, international climate agreements, and familiarity with Nigeria's climate-related challenges and policies.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management tools and experience with community engagement.
  • Passion: Genuine commitment to addressing climate change and promoting sustainable practices.
