The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Officer to join our Global Health Initiatives team. As a Program Officer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to improve global health outcomes and address pressing challenges in healthcare. Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage assigned global health projects, ensuring the successful execution of initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the foundation's objectives.
  • Grant Management: Evaluate grant proposals, monitor ongoing projects, and provide guidance to grantees to maximize the impact of funding.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of global health trends, conduct research, and analyze data to inform decision-making and program strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and research institutions.
  • Advocacy: Engage in advocacy efforts to promote policies and practices that align with the foundation's global health priorities.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of programs.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, International Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in global health program management.
  • Strong understanding of global health issues, healthcare systems, and public health strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and partnerships, with a track record of achieving measurable results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with grant-making processes and experience in grant management.
  • Commitment to the foundation's values and mission.
