The National Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) is seeking qualified candidates to join its dynamic team as Analysts. The NFIU plays a critical role in combating financial crimes, ensuring the integrity of the financial system, and contributing to national security. As an Analyst at NFIU, you will be part of a dedicated team working to analyze financial data, detect suspicious activities, and support investigations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial transactions to identify potential money laundering, terrorism financing, and other illicit activities.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to gather and share relevant intelligence.
- Utilize advanced tools and technologies to extract, analyze, and interpret financial data for the purpose of identifying suspicious patterns or trends.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations for further action.
- Stay abreast of current financial regulations, trends, and emerging threats in the financial sector.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in financial intelligence analysis.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are a plus.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably in the areas of anti-money laundering (AML) or financial crimes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of financial intelligence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
