The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Program Officer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our humanitarian programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the NRC's mission of providing assistance and protection to displaced communities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs that make a tangible impact.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project teams to design, plan, and execute humanitarian programs in line with NRC's objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate program activities, ensuring they adhere to established standards and contribute to the overall success of NRC initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to field staff, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
• Foster partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, to enhance program effectiveness.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals, budgets, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in the humanitarian sector, integrating best practices and innovations into program design and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience in program management within the humanitarian sector, with a focus on emergency response and recovery.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance and reporting requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to travel to field locations, sometimes in challenging and remote environments.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Norwegian is an asset.
